Focus

As soon as a new year starts I’ve learned from a missionary who used to live in Kansas, to pray to God for one word for the year. Last year’s the word was “Transition” so since January 1st I knew that big transitions were about to happen, five months later I was flying to another continent.

The word for this year is “Focus” and it sound a little weird to me at first but then Psalm 27:4 crossed my heart and I knew what kind of focus this is year is going to teach. Time to focus 100% on who God is, I thought I had been focusing on that already but this first month came to show that my vision was blurred and I was too distracted with work that my time with God was being neglected.

Yes, we can be distracted from God even if we do what god told us to do, how does that happen? It happens when we focus on the creation more than the Creator. Took me some time to write this month because I was figuring first how to build an schedule where I could spent more time with God than anything else, I had to say no for a few things I liked and yes to some others I do not, all in order to have more time with the One I cannot really live without.

Mission

The first thing we did here with the team was to gather together for 3 days with the whole team across the UK to pray asking God what He wanted us to do this year. We all spent 8 hours everyday worshiping, reading Scripture and sharing with one another what we believd God was saying. The leadership came with a word based on 1 Corinthians 13 saying that we had all the plans but none of that would matter if we did not have love to do them. Firstly, love for the One who give us strength, secondly to one another and then for the mission.

Our community at the church, which meets bi-weekly, has grown stronger. During the service which looks more like a big bible reading group, we have experienced people confessing sins, praying for one another, engaging in discussions regarding the knowledge of God. With the given oportunites to preach, I’ve realized that it looks more like a direct study than actually a formal preaching, and I love that.

Be Part of It

One song is stuck in my head since my departure which is “I have decided to follow Jesus” and it’s been fun to see those lyrics being written in me. There is no turning back and I am glad that I can trough this path with you.

I have a new number so please do not hesitate to send a message +4407883860218

Thank you for you being here!

I just wrote you a long reply and lost it! Shame. Will not be able to duplicate it.
It is encouraging to hear of your ministry and focus on God. That singular focus Is what we all need. Psalm 86:11 ( and other places) speak of an undivided heart, a singular mindset (focus) on God alone.
God encourage and keep you as you grow in his likeness.
