Direction

The month of February was an actual challenge and call to live like the prophets did, not only them but like the great man and woman of God. All of them had God as their main priority and they did not move until God told them to. I’ve been doing this Bible plan where I will finish the whole bible 6 months, the pattern repeats over and over, God is always looking for those who love Him more than anything else, and even though He does not need, He choose to partner with them to bring others to join the awesomeness of His love.

Spending more time in quietness is teaching me that God is my reward, even if nothing happens I will still be satisfied because I’ve found Him. I’ve also been reading this book called “Will you choose the Wilderness?” By Samuel Whitefield which actually shows in depth the life of John the Baptist and how he chose to live in the wilderness even when he was the major reference in Israel in his time. Totally recommend it.

Mission

The mission work here has been better than ever, in the following week I will start English classes totally focused to Muslims, that will be a challenge, due to the instance that is increasing in the Middle East, and I ask for your prayers on that. I will be working with people whom lived in this context for over 20 years and I expect a lot of learning from them.

The bible reading groups only increases, not only in number but in depth, in the last 2 sessions we had great conversation on why believing in Jesus’ divinity is fundamental to the Christian faith, even though it might seen obvious, all of our unbelief and sin actually come from the fact that we forget who God is.

“At one point you need to decide if Jesus is really your Lord or a guru with excepcional knowledge”

– Quoted from one the people in our bible reading

The football (soccer) program is a working in progress, all the actions that I could do were made and now is just a matter of time until they find a time slot so I can start. Last Friday a lady of my organization got a contact inside her workplace and told them about the possibility of soccer for the youth. They seemed very open to the idea. What I thought it was only gonna be one soccer program is becoming two in a matter of weeks and I did not even start.

Testimonies

In the last updates I’ve shared that I was discipling a man called Paul, and it has been really great for both of us. I am noticing a good change in him and myself as we grow in this relationship. I’ve realized that I am not the person who’s gonna make him change, God is. The only work that is asked of me is to guide him to God. Although I would like to carry Paul to Him that is a journey that he needs to walk by himself. But he is making better life decisions and is consistent on the Bible reading groups, arriving almost 1 hour early (which annoys me because I want to sleep a little bit more).

Another man called Jamie which used to deal with social anxiety is trying to learn to play the guitar and accepted the idea of rehearsing and playing with me in the church service, that is the power of a small congregation, everybody knows him and he knows everybody, so he feels safe to put himself out of his comfort zone. It has been a journey but remarkably satisfying to see.

Opportunities

Spending more time with the team has led some invite to join them in the worship team and also sharing some words in the services, it is good that they believe in me for it but I believe it is not time for that kind of exposure yet. So I will preach on March 10th but I will stop for a few months or more, I will wait until God tells me.

Be Part of It

Thank you for being in this mission with me, thank you for your support and notice that I will be having a meeting with the U.S. embassy to apply for my Tourist Visa, if everything goes well I will visit you guys in August. High hopes to see you all!!

Great news, Tales. You are growing in the Lord. I just bought the wilderness book. Will be starting it in the week ahead.
