September

There is one phrase that is echoing through out this month, “the pursuit of happiness”, what more could we desire? Our hearts long for it since the day we are born, every single human desires to be happy and look for it until the day their days here on this earth comes to an end.

Ecclesiastes will be very empathic on this topic, but this book comes also with the terrific resolution for this pursuit, which is God. He is the fountain of joy and satisfaction. He is the One who make all things come to a sense. And as the book says, everything apart from God is meaningless or vanity. I wonder if you who is reading right now recongnizes God as your ultimate source of happiness, if He is the center of what brings you joy, or even if He crosses your mind whenever you feel complete.

This past month, I’ve been trying to see all that in everything that I do, and I noticed as well that without you reader, it would be so hard. Without further ado, let’s look for the updates.

Happines in Teaching

Teaching has been something that I’ve learned to love, as I continue to preach on sundays and teach on our city meetings, studying and speaking about God has been a immense joy.

In our community church, we have been moving to a house context, where more and more people are willing to open their houses to lead bible discussions, having as a model the church in Acts. We all know at least one person who is open to have a talk about God but refuses to join a service in a church. What if we did the service in our living rooms? If you know the gospel and are able to share it, to what people could be better than those near you? With that in mind, the culture of our church is changing, everyone is a doer of the Word not only a receiver.

Happiness in Fruits

We as a church have been experiencing great moments with god during worship, we don’t even need instruments to rejoice together in God’s presence.

Remember Luca? He has become a disciple of Jesus, and we have been walking together, he’s getting baptized in January. This is a big deal since he’s the first person in our congregation to do so in a long time. Let’s remember to pray for him as he takes this bold step in his faith, with the hope that his entire household will also come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Happiness in The Ordinary

London is a great city for cycling. My bike had a minor issue which made me laugh. During my daily commute to one of our weekly meetings, I pushed it a little too hard, and it broke. I had to walk back home in the cold 36-degree Fahrenheit (2 in Celsius) weather. However, this gave me the opportunity to have a thoughtful conversation with myself and appreciate the everyday path that I take. I also noticed some stores and people in my neighborhood that I had never paid attention to before. I realized that the bike issue was fixable, so I didn’t let it bring me anger or sadness because everything happens for a reason.

Happiness in The Communion

Thank you for being part of it, let’s keep it togeher and press it on so we may finish the race with our faith that Jesus is Lord!
