Fresh Start

It is nothing what I expected it would be, it’s WAY better

It has been 3 days since I’ve arrived in London, and its already been intense and full of activities. The place that I am in is called the Isle of Dogs, a 5 minute walk will take you straight to the famous Thames River (pic 1).

At the Isle of Dogs we have a free English class, it works as a conversational session so students can practice their English with some British but also other foreigners. The first class that I was in they invited me to lead the students in conversations which went way better than I expected, they were waiting 9 people (pic 2) but 17 showed up! We had to separate in two rooms so the four of us could really spend time with them. They ended up sharing deep thoughts and their current situation in life, they were vulnerable and open, who would’ve thought?

After the class we stayed there connecting with them and I had an hour conversation with an Italian but I could not get his number because I was without a SIM card and my phone, I am praying that he comes back on the next Wednesday.

We had our staff meeting this morning and they introduced themselves and they are all loving people, they prayed for me and brought me in and really listened what I had to bring into the discussion.

They are just starting regular prayer meetings with college age students (perfect timing)

Struggles (not really)

Among the big red buses, fish and chips, and a lot of cultures together I have found that the British English is the hardest language to understand, especially if the person you are talking to does not recognize you as international.

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THIS, IS JUST THE BEGINNING!

Sounds great, Tales. You will catch the British English. Keep listening. A few vocabulary changes, but you will be fine once you catch the rhythm of the accent. Praying for you

Wonderful to hear your are settling in and already making connections! We are praying for your journey through this ministry and that God continues to use you to bring people to Him.
